As the holy month of Ramadhan draws to a close by this coming weekend, we will like to extend our best wishes and Selamat Hari Raya Adilfitri greetings to all Muslims.

For all who are on the road home to their kampungs by various types of transport like buses, cars, trains, planes, boats and motorcycles, we want you all to be careful on the roads. Better be safe than never, so drive careful, follow the road signs and most importantly BE PATIENT.

On 31st. August 2009, Malaysia and all Malaysians celebrate her 52nd. Year of Independence or Merdeka. WE have come a long way since our birth in 1957. As Malaysians celebrate this year's Merdeka in a low key manner in view of the holy and fasting month of Ramadhan, we must not forget the sacrifices of all Malaysian citizens and the spirit of "give" and "take" by all races in Malaysia. All races must work together and co-operate with one another to face the economic challenges and security perils happening around us.

CLASS OF 71 REUNION

TAMAN MELAKA RAYA: A grand reunion gathering cum buffet dinner by the poolside overlooking the Straits of Malacca at Holiday Inn is scheduled for the Malacca High School (MHS) Class of 71 Reunion on Saturday, 29 August 2009.

Organizing Chairman Ir Ng Cheu Kuan siad that it has been been more than three decades that many of the 71 classmates and schoolmates have not met since leaving school. Many of them have succeeded in their respective careers and have families of their own.

From June 2009, MAHSOPA will be holding their casual Monthly gathering for MAHSOPA members and former Malacca High pupils at Shah's Village Hotel, Petaling Jaya on the last Friday of each month.

This last Friday gathering is to foster fellowship and encourage bondage among Malacca High Alumni members of all ages to meet one another.

All former Malacca High Alumni members are encouraged to attend this monthly gathering at Shah's Village Village.

YESTERDAY was Teachers Day. A day of celebration and reflection, a break from politics and more politics.

Scan through the dailies, news portals and blogs, and one sees politics end to end.

Our daily lives seem to revolve around politics. It will be another three years at least before the next general election, but politics is very much on everyone's mind. It is already 14 months since the last election but we are still grappling with issues emanating from the results of that one.
