For all MHS Alumni members (registered and unregistered), please take note of this auspicious date as today is Malacca High School 181st. Year of Founding. Malacca High was founded on 7th. December 1826 and this Day in History was even acknowledged by Rutland Herald On-line newspaper of Vermont U.S.A.

MAHSOPA PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO MALACCAHIGH

2nd. September 2007

On 27th. August 2007, a delegation of MAHSOPA Committee members led by MAHSOPA current President, Tan Sri Dr Abdul Rahman Arshad, Secreteary, Lim Koh Chin, and Committee members, Leo Ann Mean, Johnny Yong Chin Mee and Robert Lim Fung Wang paid a courtesy visit to our Alma Mater at Malacca High School in Melaka.

Malacca High were represented by Hj. Abdul Razak b. Che Ngah (Pengetua, SMK Tinggi Melaka), Hj. Rizal Abdullah (PIBG Vice-Chairman), and Abdul Halim Abdul Malek (Senior Assistant, Student Affairs).

MAHSOPA TO CARRY OUT MEMBERSHIP DRIVE CAMPAIGN

13th. August 2007

During our last MAHSOPA Committee meeting held at Shah's Village Hotel, Petaling Jaya, one of the number of activities proposed, was the Life Membership Campaign. As the Life membership one off fees is only RM 25.00 per member, the committee felt that we should register as many new Life MAHSOPA members as possible.

Many of former Malacca High students are working and residing in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor but many of them are unaware of the existence of MAHSOPA. Members are encouraged to rope in former MHS students to join us.

GOLDEN MERDEKA GREETINGS FROM MAHSOPA

MAHSOPAwill like to extend our best wishes to all MHS Alumni members and Malaysians worldwide for celebrating our 50th. birthday on 31st. August 2007.

As we celebrate our 50 years of Nationhood, we should also look back on our past successes and mistakes. Learn from them and if necessary, correct them and strive to greater heights.

Malacca High has a great motto - Meliora Hic Sequamur in Latin which stands for "Here we strive for better things". So, for all Malaysians, we should also strive for better things as we look ahead for the next 50 years.

Calling MAHSOPA members to attend MHS Fund Raising Dinner

20th. July 2007

MAHSOPA members have been urged to attend our Alma mater, Malacca High School Fund Raising Dinner next Saturday, 28th. July 2007. The dinner is held in-conjunction with Malacca High School 180th. Anniversary.

The dinner will be held at MHS School Hall and tickets are priced at only RM 30.00 per head or a table of 10 for minimum RM 300.00. Old pupils, former teachers and present pupils are expected to attend this auspicious event. The dinner is expected to start at 8.00pm and tickets can be obtained directly from Malacca High School.

MAHSOPA Monthly Informal Gathering at Shah Village Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

MAHSOPA Monthly Informal Gathering is held on EVERY LAST THURSDAY of the Month. This gathering is opened to former Malacca High School students who want to meet each other. It is opened to all years of former MHS pupils.

Former MHS pupils of different graduating classes are encouraged to have their gatherings there as well. Currently, individual form gatherings are being held separately at different venues.

MHS 75 Alumni meets on every last Wednesday of the month at Cobra Club at PJ Astaka, Petaling Jaya.

TUN ABDULLAH SALLEH FUND

12th. July 2007

MAHSOPA is the custodian and Board of Trustees for the Tun Abdullah Fund.The fund was set up by the Association on the 5th. day of July, 1978. Previous to that date, the Association handed out examination fees under the Subsidy Scheme. Donations to the Fund are tax exempted vide Gazette Notification LN 1755/1979.The first contributor was Datuk Tamby Chik bin Haji Hassan. Over the years, a number of students have benefitted under the Subsidy Scheme.

The objectives of the Fund are :
# to perpetuate the good name of Tun Abdullah Salleh;
