MAHSOPA PULAU KETAM DAY TRIP ON SAT. 22.9.2012

Our MAHSOPA trip to Pulau Ketam on Saturday, 22nd. September 2012 is confirmed.

To date, 10 persons have confirmed to attend this trip. If any friends want to attend, let us know at admin@mahsopa.net.

We have placed our booking with Mr.Chia who is arranging the ferry,Pulau Ketam tour, sea food lunch, fish farm tour etc. from 9.00 am until 4.00pm with a tour guide. Tour fees per adult is only RM 60.00. This is to be collected at the terminal before the tour starts.

MHS FUND RAISING DINNER POSTPONED

MAHSOPA has been informed by Malacca High School authorities that the fund raising dinner slated on 15th. September 2012 has been postponed to April 2013.

No reasons have been given. Kindly take note.

MHS CLASS OF 1965 REUNION

Reunion for Malacca High School class of '65

MALACCA: Malacca High School's class of 1965 would be organising a celebration and reunion with the theme "Balik Kampung" this October.
The celebration and reunion organising committee spokesman Lee Hong Bow said the event, which is held for the sixth time since 1995, would be held from Oct 19 to 21.

"It will also be a special event as it would have been 47 years since the students, who were mostly born in 1947, are meeting again to celebrate their alma mater.

ICONIC LIDO THEATRE BUILDING RAZED TO THE GROUND ON 8.8.2012

MALACCA: A100-YEAR-OLD building that housed Pasaraya Khelass in Jalan Kee Ann near here was destroyed in a fire on Monday night.
The fire also razed 10 fruit stalls and two food stalls near the one-storey building.

MCA stalwart Tan Cheng Swee dies

MALACCA: MCA stalwart Tan Sri Tan Cheng Swee passed away at Hospital Pantai Ayer Keroh on Sunday night. He was 92.

Tan, who was Malacca MCA advisor, was admitted to the private hospital in early July for treatment due to failing health and passed away at about 11pm.

The Malacca High School Management Committee intends to hold a fund raising dinner on Saturday, 15th. September 2012 at 7.00pm.

Venue of the dinner is to be held at the Malacca High School Hall in Malacca.

Ex-pupils of Malacca High School are cordially invited to join in this fund raising dinner.

MAHSOPA members who want to attend this dinner can buy your tickets via MAHSOPA @ RM 100.00 per head.

Kindly pay through our MAHSOPA Bank Account by giving us your name and tickets required. Cut off time is 15th.August 2012.

MAHSOPA FAMILY DAY OUTING TO PULAU KETAM IS ON

Due to time constraint, we have decided not to have the Port Klang Authority tour in the afternoon. As such, we will be concentrating on the Pulau Ketam tour from 9.00am to 4.00pm.

This Pulau Ketam tour, which includes a tour guide from Pulau Ketam, is priced at RM 70.00/adult for a group of minimum 20 persons.

BANDAR HILIR PRIMARY SCHOOL TO BE DECLARED AS HERITAGE SITE

The National Heritage Department of Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture has published a public notice that Bandar Hilir Primary School has been designated to be a heritage site on 29th March 2012.
Any objections can be submitted to the ministry at info@warisan.gov.my.

Webmaster: Maybe we can request the commissioner of designating the Malacca High Main building to be designated as well.

School keeping up with its fine tradition

MALACCA: For the last 50 years, Malacca High School (MHS) had always been tagged a hockey powerhouse on on the local and national front. The school’s recent capture of the state schools Under 18 honours and emerging second best in the Malaysian Hockey Confederation Division Two Junior League is testimony of its continuing prowess in the game.
